Scottish Terrier
Male  ~  Black Coat  ~  4 Years Old  ~  Affectionate & Sweet Personality  Owner Release

Scottie came to rescue after his beloved owner became gravely ill and could no longer care for him. Scottie is in pretty rough physical shape but he has not lost his spirit. He is very social, loves to play and gives kisses, and he gets along great with everyone! Scottie enjoys riding in the car, (he used to go on long road trips with his owner), and he is a model passenger. This darling little fellow is house trained, crate trained, knows about doggie doors and is one of the sweetest dogs we've ever met!
9/15/06: Scottie was examined by Dr. McGuire at Carrollton Animal Hospital today.

Scottie has a severe case of demodex mites. His skin is diffusely hairless except for his head and legs, is hyperpigmented, seborrheic and lichenified. His skin also has a very strong yeasty odor. Scottie has several small raised papules on his shoulders and upper forelimbs.

Scottie's eyes are dull with some mucoid discharge and he has KCS (dry eye). Shirmer Tear Test results: right eye = 8 mm, left eye = 10 mm.  His ears are infected and are full of thick, crusty tan exudate.

Scottie's teeth are in fair condition. His incisors are worn on the top and bottom and he has moderate tartar on his back teeth.

Total Body Function (Blood Panel): Results are within normal range, including thyroid function. Heartworm/Ehr/Lym test: negative

Medications: Ivermectin (demodex mites), ketoconazole 200 mg (skin infection/yeast infection), mometamax 15 gm (ear infection), optimmune ointment (dry eye), malaseb shampoo.
